more about lorien

Lorien Dana was born in what used to be rural Ohio. As a child, her hero was the Scarlet Pimpernel (which inspired a tattoo). Now, it’s Nanny Ogg (which will probably not). She grew up in a bookish family (the first name is a clue), and has been writing since she was old enough to hold a pencil. She has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from The Ohio State University, and is doing graduate work in Education at Ashland University. Over her life she has held all the exciting jobs most writers hold, with the exception of cocktail waitress. The best ones have always turned out to pay the worst. As a writer, teacher, wife-of-one and mother-of-two, she wears many hats–but her favorite one is black and pointy. She lives in Ohio with said husband, daughters, assorted fish and at least one gremlin.
