As you can see, the revamped website is now live! We've done a bit of rearranging, but most of the old content is still here, plus some new stuff. We're still undergoing a bit of construction as we migrate the blog to a new address in order to have more control over its appearance and function, and as we discover any bugs that didn't show up until the site went live. Thank you for your patience. This year we'll have much more frequent blog entries, as well as more regular updates to Ghost Stories every month on the 1st and the 15th. Be sure to check out the latest installment, posted this morning as the final part of our site redesign. Thanks very much to the creativity of artist Paulina Stuckey-Cassidy for the new artwork -- a commissioned piece titled "Stars and Spiders." Please take a tour of the revamped site and tell us what you think. 01.07.2008 ... The new version of the website is set to go live this month. It's a bit more streamlined and intuitive, and it should be easier to find what you're looking for. Some of sub-page addresses may be a bit in flux for a while, so bookmark the main page or the blog for safekeeping, as those addresses will never change. In the mean time, the blog is update daily, so check it out. 05.31.2007 ... There's a new installment up in the Ghost Stories project, and we'll be posting some new blog entries sometime soon. We're both going camping in June, so that will probably be it until the next installment goes live. Unless, of course, we brainstorm some new additions to the website over s'mores. -SP 04.22.2007 ... The Foul Papers Blog is now live. The look of it is still in flux, but we'll both be posting semi-regularly from now on. Also, this site will now (or, more accurately, any minute now) be a member of the SFWA webring. If the link is not currently active, check back in a few days. We're good on our end, but it takes a bit of time for the ringmaster to get us set up from that end. -SP 04.17.2007 ... The first installment of Ghost Stories is now available on the Joint Projects page. Each month we'll post another letter in the story. Hope you enjoy! -SP: 04.02.2007 ... Lorien just sold her short story, "Holidaytown," to the online literary magazine, Written Word. More info, including publication date and hyperlink, to come soon! -SP 04.01.2007 ... So, here's the latest: we're experiencing a (more than) slight delay in getting up the first Ghost Stories installment, in large part due to both of us having very busy, very full lives. I recently moved house for the third time in a year, and Lorien's Experiencing Motherhood in all its glory. Keep the faith, though, the first installment is coming! In other news -- I've been spending my solo writing time almost exclusively on academic writing, and probably will continue to do so for the next few months until I'm done with coursework once and for all. My latest piece is due out this month (see sidebar), and explores some of the issues surrounding graduate study of popular culture. Lorien, meanwhile, is making great progress on Marival. We're spending our joint work time on Ghost Stories. More news as it comes! --Shannan 02.01.2007 ... Well, the Foul Papers site is finally live. I can hardly believe it. Those of you who've checked back at this site over the years will no doubt realize that I've been learning HTML and web design as I go. My latest software hurdle has been Dreamweaver, a program that's finally allowed me to design and manage a site I really like. I also recently took a class on Flash, so expect some fun little animations to pop up in the near future. Lorien and I have been working together for years, and we decided that Foul Papers needed more of a web presence right around the time that we decided to start doing some joint projects. We were going to put up three sites -- one for her, one for me, and one for us, but that seemed kind of silly (not to mention hard to keep updated!) So this is what we decided to do instead. More goodies, less hassle for everyone concerned! The first of those joint projects I mentioned above has the working title Ghost Stories. It's an original contemporary fantasy mystery available for free in celebration of our new website. The first installment will go online later this month on the Joint Projects page. A new installment will then go online monthly. That's it for now. Please check back often for news on upcoming publications and projects, both joint and indvidual. Want some samples of what we write individually? Look around a bit. They're not hard to find. And, hey, thanks for visiting! -- Shannan (Webmistress) |
